As New Jerseyans prepare for a historic election in 2025 to choose our next governor and Legislature, the New Jersey Million Voter Project is here to ensure that every voter’s voice is heard. We are a non-partisan initiative to connect, empower and mobilize our state’s rising majority: voters of color, youth, new citizens, women, and working-class communities. Together, we’re making sure that our political system pays attention to the issues driving our increasingly diverse state.

One Million New Jersey Voters in 2025

Launching the largest non-partisan effort in state history

About Us

Who We Are

The New Jersey Million Voters Project is a network of community organizations, faith groups and labor unions that is focused on empowering the voters who will elect New Jersey’s next governor and state Legislature.

We have deep roots in communities of color, immigrant communities and working class communities — and we want to use the power of our coalition to engage with voters who are too-often excluded from our political process.

Our goal is simple: to engage with one million voters across New Jersey before the 2025 elections. Through deep canvassing, we want to hear from these voters about their concerns and their desires for the next governor, and we want to motivate these voters to engage in the political process by empowering them to organize and to cast their ballots.

Mission

Our mission is to strengthen democracy in New Jersey and make our political system more inclusive by engaging one million voters– especially those who don’t vote regularly– to encourage their active participation in the political process.

We want to lift up the voices of voters of color, women, and other marginalized groups, by helping them organize and participate in the electoral process through year-round civic engagement and community organizing that builds the long-term power of diverse communities across our state.

And we’re committed to sharing the results of our engagement with these communities so that candidates can understand what their future constituents care about.

Our Program

Voter Outreach

Through community organizing, door-to-door outreach, phone calls, and texts, we will connect with one million voters on issues that matter to them.

Our rigorous and data-driven approach uses the techniques of deep organizing and prioritizes direct voter contact because talking to voters allows us to better listen to their concerns while also making them more likely to engage in the electoral process.

And we will be focusing on issues of racial justice, economic equity and immigrant rights — issues of major importance to New Jersey’s diverse communities that are too often absent from the political discourse in Trenton.
